Only in Redneckville would you come outside to wait for the bus and see Bambi standing in your front yard. It was pretty surreal but also pretty damned cool. If I do say so myself.
So what if I can't make a run to the border for some Taco Hell. I have deers and shit at my casa!!

Baby Birds
For the last 5 years or so we've had birds come to nest in the same exact location in our garage. We keep the door open every year because of this and I noticed a Momma bird a few days ago laying on her eggs. When she flew away I took a peep and I made out 5 little speckled eggs inside.
Well today Arwen and I got to witness some of them hatch! This is the first time we've ever seen them actually come out of the egg. I rushed inside to grab my camera. The picture below shows the egg splitting in you look.
Another reason I adore living so far out in the country. Sure it sucks when you want fast food or need an ingredient for dinner but you can't beat benefits like this.

Yard Work
Today was spent tidying up the yard. This is a huge chore for the entire family as our 'yard' is close to 1 acre. We managed to get the front finished but have to return tomorrow for the back. This is the one thing I loved so much about living an apartment; free landscaping. But then again, being so close to nature is worth the labor. I think it's more than a fair trade off.
I'm so sore and exhausted right now but in a good way.
