Jimbo walks into the room holding our new laptop. He has it braced under his arm, fingers wrapped around the bottom.
"Hey baby," he says, walking over to me.
"What's up?" I ask, spinning around in the chair.
"I'm not sure if you know this, but when you carry the laptop, carry it like this." He models his hold and then maneuvers it around, clutching it with just his fingers. "Don't carry it like this, you know, just in case."
I stare at him and then smirk. "Really, I would never have thought of that."
I love my husband, but sometimes he can be really stupid.

You know when...
You know you're life is chaotic when your 6 year wedding anniversary is fast approaching and you completely forgot about it until yesterday.
We figure we'll take in a movie and maybe go out for dinner. It's amazing how time, and more importantly children, change those "plans". We always swore we'd go on a trip for our 5 year anniversary and maybe even venture to Italy or some other dream locale for our 10. But thus far it's been: Us, dinner and a movie.

Dear Jimbo~
My Dear Sweet Husband~
When our 14 month old is hacking, possibly choking and you're wondering whether or not she needs assistance, a word of advice...
She is only 14 months old and if she is choking asking her "Are you ok sweetheart?" isn't likely to illicit a response.
Next time try actually walking over to access the situation, it could mean the difference between laughing or shouting "oh shit".
Much Love Sweets,
Your Wife

Super Powers

Jimbo: If you could have one super power what would it be?
Me: Hmmm, let me think a second. *pauses* What would you have?
Jimbo: I'd be able to fly.
Me: I'd be invisible, definitely.
Jimbo: Invisible? That's a lame super power.
Me: No it isn't, it's the most awesome super power in the world.
Jimbo (humoring me): Care to explain?
Me: Sure. What other power would allow me to go into movie theaters and snap people's phones off while they yapped away or better still, smack them on the head when they won't shut up. Now that would be a power worth having.
Jimbo: So basically you want a super power just so you can fuck with people?
Me: Pretty much.
Jimbo: Only you babe.

Have I told you lately...
Today my husband called and I was instantly suspicious.
Jim: "Baby, have I ever told you how glad I am that you are in my life?"
Me: "Oh shit, what's wrong?"
Jim: "Does something have to be wrong for me to call and tell you I love you?"
Me: "No but I know you hun, go ahead."
He told me he'd ran to Office Depot to look for an organizer during his lunch break. He noticed someone he thought he knew and when he realized it was indeed his old girlfriend he attempted to duck behind the nearest aisle. But she saw him anyhow and walked up to strike up a conversation.
They talked about their lives now, how long it's been, the usual things. But the thing that Jimbo said that amazed him was "nothing was there, nothing at all" anymore. Now, I could be the jealous bitch wife and say, "well there'd better NOT be anything there!" but I realize the human heart doesn't always function in the most rational of ways. He said instead he realized how happy he is and how happy I've made him.
On a side note, while I appreciate his honesty and I'm glad he had that moment of clarity, discovering she'd asked for his phone number to "catch up" didn't sit so well with me.
Ok so maybe I am a jealous bitch of a wife, so sue me.

You Rock
"Baby, don't sweat the small stuff that you can't change. All of us think you rock, we love you and at the end of the day, isn't that what matters?"
Abso-fucking-lutely baby. Abso-fucking-lutely.

Well Excuuuuse Me!
I needed my nail brush from the bathroom. I walked up the stairs and to the door.
"I'm in here!" Jimbo bellowed from the other side.
"Oh, can you please hand me my nail brush?"
"Can't you wait?" he yells back. I hear the rustling of a magazine which means he's enjoying leisurely bathroom time.
"Not really," I say back. "You could be in there a while." I know from experience his leisurely bathroom breaks last as long as whatever he is reading does.
"Damn it, can't someone take a shit in peace?" he starts yelling. I hear him rustle the magazine again.
"Look, I won't look for god's sake, just hand..."
The door opens and he throws it out the door and slams it back into place. The brush skids across the floor to rest at my feet.
"Thanks babe," I bend down to pick it up. "I'm so glad I didn't marry an asshole."
"I'm not being an asshole, there is nothing worse than pinching out a load and being interrupted!"
Excuse the hell out of me. It's not like I would know ANYTHING about visiting the bathroom in private. You know, since I've had an expanding viewing audience since 2002.

Freaky
As I was reading about the surprise ending after the credits of Iron Man, I quickly called Jimbo. We'd walked out early, even after I'd wondered then if there would be an extra something.
"Guess what?" I said after he'd answered the phone. "There was a surprise ending after the credits of Iron Man, it had Nick Fury in it!"
"Ok, that's just freaky," he said back.
"What is?"
"I was just about to call you, I read about that 5 minutes ago and wanted to tell you. Then you called me to tell me."
How's that for being inside each other's heads.

Iron Man

So last night we went to see Iron Man. It was a great movie, I was pleasantly surprised. Go check it out if you get the chance.
The best part of the night, other than spending quality time with my super sweet guy, was the compliments I received on my make-up. I decided to just go for it and used some of my new pigments and my MAC shadestick (my only MAC product). I did this peacock thing with a bright shimmery blue in the inner corner and a deep dark indigo blue on the rest of the lid. I smoked that out with a bit of black in the crease and lined my lower lash line with corresponding blues.
I was sort of worried because it was a very noticeable look which is a far cry from my normal face when I go out. But when I stopped inside Sally's (on the look for some Limited Edition Finger Paints polish) the girl complimented me. Then I got another compliment at Walgreen's and finally at Hell-Mart (we did our weekly shopping after the movie). So I guess it looked ok, I regret not taking pictures to share. I will next time.
On a side note, when I went to Belk to look for some MAC pigment. I approached the counter and asked about purchasing the Old Gold pigment. The girl helping me told me it was "a limited edition" which is weird because online it's not listed as one. She informed me also that her store "doesn't carry the pigments".
Come to find out they not only didn't have the pigments but they didn't have any palettes or refills. All they had were paint pots, individual shadows and blushes. I asked if I could possibly buy a couple of shadows and get some samples to figure out exactly what I like and was told, "just buy it, if you don't like it you can just bring it back".
Needless to say, I didn't buy anything from the counter. Is this usual for MAC vendors and representatives? There were 3 MAC people at the counter and one other client other than myself. She wasn't outright "hateful" but you could tell she wanted me gone.

♥ Mark and Kristi ♥

Today has been hell but I wanted to blog quickly about DWTS last night.
♥ Mark and Kristi ♥ are the two to beat this season, seriously. Her Mambo was so awesome! Jimbo told me his company is offering a free ballroom lesson this week and I so hope I can go. I asked him last week if he'd consider taking classes with me. I'll confess my husband is rather hot when he wants to be (aka when he shaves! he just doesn't like looking so young) and I'd love to see him dress up nice for me and not just for work!
I have the fever! And dancing would help get me back into shape. If my body will accept the challenge that is.
